Clinical Research

Welcome to the world of choroid. Advancements in imaging modalities and techniques have allowed us to study the choroid and its vascularity which has been largely untouched. Many ocular pathologies have shown early choroidal changes before retinal signs as well as changes during the progression as well as regression of the disease. Exploring its structure, functions and the implications for ocular health, our research aims to unlock insights that may contribute to advancements in eye care and vision science. At our lab, we work at developing various algorithms to study the choroid and choroidal vascularity as well as define novel biomarkers for different ocular pathologies.

Central Serous Chorioretinopathy (CSCR)

CSCR is a condition impacting the choroid and retina of the eye, commonly resulting in the buildup of subretinal fluid and distorted vision known as metamorphopsia. At the CAR Lab, our goal is to leverage advanced technology and artificial intelligence to develop innovative biomarkers for analyzing the disease and forecasting outcomes associated with various treatment approaches.

Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

AMD stands as a significant contributor to irreversible vision decline among elderly population.Timely diagnosis and effective management can potentially halt its progression during its initial phases. At CAR Lab, our objective is to pioneer novel biomarkers adopting artificial intelligence and cutting-edge image processing techniques to detect early signs of AMD.By doing so, we aim to prevent vision loss and elevate the overall quality of life for affected patients.
